Coinciding with the start of the new school year, School Dental Prevention Program activities started for the 2015-16 to provide its awareness and educational services across the Ministry of National Guard schools in order to raise the health and preventive levels for school students.
Dr. Abeer Abdulrahman Al Sbait, School Prevention Program for Oral and Dental Health Director pointed out that at this stage, visits to 9 boys schools and 11 girls schools will be coordinated to perform regular check-ups within the mobile dental clinics by dentists affiliated with the MNG-HA.
Moreover, during this campaign, gifts, booklets and illustrative banners will be distributed amongst the students to highlight the importance of teeth hygiene, as well as holding a number of awareness lectures at all academic levels.
The School Dental Prevention Program team consists of 4 dentists and 2 health educators supervised by Dr. Ali Al Ehaideb, Dental Services - Central Region - Chairman and Dr. Abeer Abdulrahman Al Sbait, Director of the School Dental Prevention Program.
During last year’s campaign, around 439 students have been screen and treated in the last academic year program and participated in several social activities where the number of beneficiaries of the lectures of the program more than 800 people awareness.
Last but not least, The program will also participate in a number of local and international future conferences such as the Annual Saudi Dental Society Conference in addition to the UAE International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition – AEEDC Dubai 2016.
