The condition of Ruqayyah and Zainab is now stable after undergoing the successfully separating procedure that took place on Friday 16th July in KAMC-RD and now they’re both under supervision in PICU.
His Excellency, Dr. Abduallah Al-Rabeeah the head of the medical and surgical team said that the twins are getting better 4 days after the surgery and all the antibiotics were stopped. Zainab is doing well and all artificial respirators were taken off on Monday, and started bottle-feeding.
On the other hand, there are no signs of complications or infections. Zainab also started reacting to her parents and the medical staff and expected to remain in the PICU for several days before being transferred to the pediatric ward.
All vital signs of the twin Ruqayyah are stable for now and to the use of artificial respirators are being reduced gradually; all respirators will be taken off during the next two days. She’s still depending on the nutritional tube, with no signs of infections or complications, but her chance to survive is little few due to the presence of serious defects in her head.
It’s worth mentioning that this is the28th separation procedure to be carried out in the Kingdom of Humanity based on the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
