Under the patronage of his Excellency Dr. Bandar Al Knawy the CEO of the National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for the Health Sciences, the National Guard Health Affairs represented by the Social Research Department and Charity Services in cooperation with the Higher Education Training Center and the Academic Affairs will start the first symposium about Social Responsibility in Health Sectors next Tuesday, the 7th of April 2009 in Dr. Sameer Bin Huraib Auditorium in King Abdulaziz Medical City- Riyadh.

Ms. Samiha Al Haydar Advisor of Social Research and Charity Services at the NGHA said that a wide range of community members from both governmental and private sectors will participate in the symposium along with representatives from the Consultative Council (Majlis Alshura), King Saud University, Imam Mohammad Bin Saud Islamic University, Human Rights Commission, Saudi Economic Association, Abu Dhabi Emiratization Council (ADEC), the International Islamic Jurisprudence Academy and more. The symposium will be accredited for 9 hours by The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

She also added that the symposium aims to raise awareness about the concept of social responsibly in the target audience, such as: executive directors, managers in departments, institutions and corporations both governmental and private and anyone who is eager to apply these social responsibly concepts within their institutions. Moreover, they aim to clarify the social responsibly concept from religious, social, legal and administrative perspectives through the participation of an elite group of professors and experts.

The symposium also aims to utilize a number of personal and institutional social responsibility experiences that support scientific tributaries in applications through the practical participation of some of those who founded this concept. Furthermore, it aims to develop a kind of integration between the governmental sector represented by NGHA and the private sector represented by companies, corporations and commercial banks in applying the social responsibly concepts.

Ms. Samiha Al Haydar confirmed that the NGHA had recently established a Social Research and Charity Services office to handle social and charity matters as a role of enforcing the NGHA’s social and charity roles and to review the social responsibly and the strategies of charity work.

Ms. Samiha concluded by saying that the NGHA is now drawing these sectors’ attention toward implementing and funding these charity programs as well as benefiting from the support, particularly after the tremendous development in the NGHA and the expansion of its services, which led to many social and individual problems that require great effort to link between the Health Affairs and these offices in companies, institutions and commercial banks.
