King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Arabic Health Encyclopedia (KAAHE) has won the Strategic Web Award under Health Services Category in the 11th Pan Arab Web Awards Academy Competition.
The award ceremony was held on the 29th of April 2014 in Dubai, and the award was received by Prof. Majid Altuwaijri, the General Supervisor of KAAHE Project, and Dr. Abdulrahman Alsughayer, KAAHE Editor In Chief.
This award recognizes KAAHE’s efforts in building an Arabic medical website enriched with credible Arabic health information as well as offering many helpful health tools and updated health news. KAAHE has recently launched “Symptom Checker” application service in collaboration with Harvard Medical School. This service helps visitors to understand their symptoms and the most likely causes to provide them with advice on how to properly deal with them. Furthermore, the KAAHE application is free and available for download on Apple and Google Play stores.
It is noteworthy to mention that KAAHE monthly visitor’s rates has recently exceeded 1.7 million visitor, and KAAHE’s application has been downloaded more than 250,000 times on both Apple and Google Play stores. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs and General Supervisor of Royal clinics, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy and Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs officials.
