One week after the separation surgery, that took place on Saturday, the 29th of October 2016 in King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital (KASCH) at King Abdul Aziz Medical City, Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs –Riyadh, and Based on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Sudanese Conjoined Twins (Rammah &Waddah ) have been transferred from the ICU to the pediatric ward. The twins are now stable and artificial ventilation has been taken off and both twins are fully responsive to their parents.
Head of the Surgical and Multidisciplinary Team, H.E. Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, stated that the twins are now stable and all their vital signs are normal, and their recovery is going according to plan. He also explained that Rammah &Waddah will be placed under a medical intensive program which will include physical therapy and rehabilitation over the next few weeks.
It is worth mentioning that surgery marks the 42nd case of siamese twins separation by the a Saudi multidisciplinary team that lasted 11 hours.
