Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mitib bin Abdullah, Deputy Commander National Guard for Executive Affairs, the activities of the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery International Convention was launched today, Monday the 9th of November 2009.
Under the emblem of "The Pursuit of knowledge", the convention is held in Makarim Hall at the Marriott Hotel – Riyadh with the participation of 19 world-class experts from the United States of America, Germany, Canada, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland as well as experts from the Arab world, Asia and the presence of more than 500 doctors.
Dr. Khalid Al-Mazrou, the Head of the ENT department in King Abdulaziz Medical City in the National Guard- Riyadh, said that this convention will discuss international advances that deal with diagnosing and treating Otolaryngology-Head & Neck diseases as well as hearing and communication disorders.Participates will also look into many important topics as such sinusitis, its causes and related surgeries, the latest findings in reconstructive surgeries as well as cochlear implants and its problems in different age groups.
It will also deal with diseases affecting children like tonsils, adenoids, tinnitus and other problems especially for the tonsils, adenoids and airway difficulties caused by accidents and congenital defects.
Dr. Khalid stressed that the role of the National Guard Health Affairs in organizing and holding the conference reaffirmed the unlimited support of His Royal Highness Prince Badir Bin Abdulaziz and the delectations of His Royal Highness Prince Mitib bin Abdullah, Deputy Commander National Guard for Executive Affairs and Dr. Bandar Al Knawy the CEO of National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
