The Training and Development Department in collaboration with Nursing Department in King Abdulaziz Hospital, Al Ahsa recently held a tissue assessment conference.
The conference discussed several papers such as: the importance of evidence based medicine in supporting clinical care, international examples on the best medical practices to stress ulcers, a lecture on how to prevent foot ulcers in diabetic patients, and the role of the pharmacy in tissue treatment.
The aim was to educate health providers in how to deal with infected tissues, assess their probability for healing and how to manage wounds by a multidisciplinary team. Moreover, stressing on the importance of nutrition to maintain healthy skin and exchanging updates in international medical studies and successful experiences in this field.
