Based on the Directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Saud, the Algerian conjoined twins, Ekram and Sarah accompanied by their parents, arrived from Algeria to King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard Health Affairs, Riyadh on Wednesday, 2 March 2011.
As advised by HE Dr Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Minister of Health and Chairman of the Surgical Team, the twins will undergo a series of clinical tests and thereafter the Multi-Disciplinary Team will meet to decide upon the separation.
Mr. Alhabeeb Adami, Ambassador of Algeria said that it was his ‘pleasure, on behalf of the people and Government of Algeria, to express his utmost thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’.
The twins parents also thanked the King who they said has ‘become a symbol of hope for many children around the world’.
HE Dr Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Minister of Health and HE Dr Bandar Al Knawy, Chief Executive Officer, National Guard Health Affairs, both appreciate the fatherly and generous gesture of King Abdullah, who through his humanitarian actions and compassion has changed so many lives.
