Primary Healthcare Center at the National Guard’s Health Affair organized the World Diabetes Day’s campaign on Wednesday the 27th of November 2019.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by M.G. Turki Bin Hmuod Al-Enezi, the Assistant Undersecretary of National Guard’s Military Sector, Western Region with the presence of Prof. Tarik Khashoggi, Deputy Executive Director, Medical Services, PMBAH, and Brig. Gen. Engr. Bassam Al Hazmi, Deputy Executive Director, Operations, PMBAH in addition to Mr. Khalid Abdulaziz al-Tuwaijri, General Director, Ministry of National Guard’s Branch, Madinah and Dr.Sumaia Alsharif, Director of PHC, Madinah.
Then, the Assistant Undersecretary of National Guard’s Military Sector, Western Region, M.G. Turki Bin Hmuod Al-Enezi toured the awareness exhibition and was briefed on a number of different educational booths.
The awareness campaign aims to raise diabetes awareness and identify the most common causes of the illness and how to manage it, as well as to provide guidance in regard to coping with diabetes by providing Plasma Glucose & Glycosylated Hemoglobin level tests, in addition to height, weight, blood pressure, and Body Mass Index checkup.
The campaign included providing diabetes medical and nutritional consultation, educational presentations, and distrusting publications related to a healthy lifestyle and how to prevent diabetes. Additionally, gifts were distributed among visitors.
