King Abdulaziz Hospital - Al Ahsa in MNG-HA Eastern Region, celebrates the events of " World Kidney Day 2017" which has received extensive attention by the hospital visitors and staff members. The events held had two awareness categories, an awareness exhibition and specialized intensive awareness lectures in which the latest developments in this field were covered.
Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj, the Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs in the Eastern Region, pointed out that: "the events included various activities aimed at educate the community about kidney disease, and such cases recently gained a worldwide attention throughout the medical world because of the increasing numbers of kidney diseases”.
Moreover, Dr. Al Arfaj added: "The events were launched by educating the general public about kidney disease: how to prevent them, types of treatment, along with several services such as, blood sugar and pressure testing, showcasing dialysis methods, and the medications used". He also added: "The MNG-HA is always keen on establishing such events, to constantly be parallel to global health and medical events and activities".
Last but not least, Dr. Al Arfaj pointed out that the intensive lectures delivered can be described as elite lectures, due to the value of the covered topics and the accurate information in the field of kidney diseases, including the prevention and treatment of chronic kidney diseases and diabetics, types of dialysis and kidney transplant options, and the importance of treating high blood pressure".
