The National Guard Health Affairs Dental Services - Central Region recently concluded the World Oral Health Day activities, where a number of consultants and specialists in the Public Dental Health Committee visited Al-Amal Center for the deaf as well as rehabilitation center, and female senior citizen centers in Riyadh in order to provide educational, preventive and therapeutic services for this segment of the society through the use of mobile dental clinics for dental services.
The visits included the Female Rehabilitation Center in Rabwah area with the participation of Dr. Azhar Abanomi- Consultant and Director of Advanced General Dentistry, Dr. Hala Abbasi - Consultant in Prosthodontics, and Reem Al Onazi - Dental Assistant. The team carried out dental exams and fluoride treatment under the supervision of Dr. Reem Banyan – Consultant in Pedodontics and the head of the Public Dental Health Committee.
Moreover, they visited the Female Senior Citizen Center in Al-Nakheel area under the supervision of Dr. Nora Al Nomay - Consultant in Periodontics, Dr. Reem Banyan and Dr. Hala Abbasi where they performed dental exams in the mobile clinic and provided the senior citizens with instructions and tips for dental hygiene.
Finally, the Dental Healthcare Center members visited Ayn Al-Faras Center for Special Needs Children which accommodates 60 children of varying disabilities from quadriplegia to Down syndrome and autism, and gave a simplified lecture on oral and dental hygiene followed by dental exams and a tour through the classrooms.
