Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Guard Health Affairs, the Social Services Department in collaboration with the Saudi Society for Sociology and Social Work is organizing a scientific program in correspondence with the World Social Work Day on Tuesday and Wednesday the 5th and 6th of May 2009 at Sameer bin Huraib Auditorium in King Abdulaziz Medical City- Riyadh.
The program will contain a number of scientific lectures and applied workshops with the participation of scholars and social workers.
On Tuesday, there will be 2 sessions, the 1st one with Dr. Manea Al-Da’ajani and Dr.Ayman Ismaeal. The 2nd session will be with Dr.Nashmi Al-Enezy and Dr. Ahmad Bagader.
On Wednesday, there will be 6 workshops; 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening. The morning workshops will focus on contemporary youth problems with Dr.Maysarah Tahir, communication skills in social work with Dr.Abduallah Al-Rshoud and psychological rehabilitation for social workers using art therapy with Dr.Awadh Al-Yami.
The evening workshops will discuss the basic skills for family communication with Dr. Omar Al-Mudefir, social research skills in the medical field with Dr.Mansour Al-Askar and developing the skills for handling pressure and reactions with Dr.Hind Al-Thmeeri.
The Social Work Department aims for organizing such symposiums and lectures in order to develop the skills of social workers and providing them with up to date skills and knowledge in order to raise the level of the scientific quality and professional skills.
This program targets both male and female social workers in the social field and fulfills 9 CME hours. Attendance fee: 100 S.R.
