The MNGHA has taken an important strategic goal to be recognized as a global healthcare leader in digital health and to make clinical care more “intelligent”. It is well poised to unlock its next achievement as Smart Healthcare thereby ensuring the best integrated care for the patients.

Smart Healthcare utilizes technology to connect the medical ecosystem in an intelligent manner and continue to innovate in order to transform for the future of virtual care.

MNGHA envisions to become a SMART Healthcare through one of the upcoming launch of new initiatives: Telehealth, Teleconsultation, Telepathology and Tele-ER.

Telehealth that delivers health and care remotely/online has become instrumental in medical assessment adopting in real time high clinical quality care that is more convenient, timely, smarter, efficient and compassionate while in strict compliance with ethical standards.

Just recently, the Health Affairs Council reviewed and approved APP 1443-01: Ambulatory Care Center TeleHealth Program. In addition, the HAC has approved the appointment of an Assistant Director for Telehealth who will manage and effectively implement the MNGHA Telehealth Program.

It is the mission of the MNGHA Smart Healthcare to establish sustainable solutions that enable our organization to carry out our solid commitment for patient’s access to care.

Over the last few weeks we have been experiencing a rise in Covid-19 admissions specifically in critical care units. Despite this challenge, it is truly comforting to know that everyone is receiving the highest quality of clinical care.

Your insight of the situation and continuously dealing with patients’ conditions with utmost competence is exceptional. Moreover, treating the patients’ families and their loved ones with compassion and courage shows the greatness of your hearts.

It is my fervent hope for the staff to stay resilient in the midst of this crisis. We are all with you, supporting and praying for you to stay strong and maintain the passion of true service to our patients and their families.

In these crucial times, the power of kindness to one another and being genuinely concerned of each other’s well-being is truly essential in order for us to heal from the scars and chaos brought by this ongoing pandemic.

Caring, generosity, respect and consideration is the hallmark of our service to the patients.

Cultivating the virtue of humility and respect as MNGHA’s universal value is our greatest strength and should always be practiced specially at the time of great difficulties.

In the heart of a successful and respected clinical care practice is the respect for time. We all understand how crucial time management is. Each second and minute is precious for all of our daily delivery of health care. Emergency, critical care, anesthesia, childbirth and surgical procedures are obviously super time sensitive practices and must leave no room for time wastage.

MNGHA is embarking on an inspiring initiative to eliminate any time loss specifically in bed management to improve the length of stay, nursing care, inpatient medication administration and OR services.

Just consider the time spent to administer antibiotics or other IV medications between the time ordered until actually been received by the patients. Mapping this journey can definitely be improved with efficient time management.

In addition, we have seen the impact of timeliness on the care of patients who present with myocardial infarction and stroke. Therefore, timely care, time efficiency and perception of time cannot be overemphasized and is a major determinant for clinical and operational excellence, higher quality of medical care, reduction of mortality and morbidity, prevention of worse outcomes, and patient satisfaction.

Time lost can never be recovered, hence, every second counts in taking care of patients. It is our duty to ensure promptness and punctuality is practiced in providing clinical care.

Please, let’s make timeliness our most important priority.​

MNGHA as a healthcare organization is highly dependent on the value TRUST. The trust of patients and their families, and the trust in our healthcare system’s highly valued staff is fundamental to patient-centered care and a crucial cornerstone of patient-doctor medical/professional relationship.

While many factors are seen as important, influential and have a tremendous impact on the current and future delivery of health services, i.e digitization and technological advancement, TRUST remains central to clinical practice with a strong correlation to better clinical outcomes.

Since the WHO’s declaration of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, we have never anticipated the scale of devastation in so many aspects of our lives. To date, the pandemic has led to 3.54 million deaths and 170 million cases globally.

MNGHA has met these challenges with a very powerful response at all levels of clinical care delivery accommodating the highest number of ICU cases and providing better clinical outcomes. The organization rose to the challenge at the most difficult time with all the staff specially our frontliners, supporting one another. I take pride how MNGHA’s valued employees exceeded our expectations and organizational ambitions. Simultaneously, we have maintained a reasonable operation and care of certain, time sensitive clinical conditions without care interruption.

I believe this comes from the inner strength cultivated in our organization that supports each other under a shared umbrella to survive any crisis, uncertainty and adversity together. The disruption brought by COVID19, has roused resilience in each one of us--a quality that doesn’t just aim to survive and bounce back from the struggles but also to be better than prior to the pandemic. The passion and dedication of the resilient staff to clinical care, as well as the mutual respect between colleagues during difficult experiences enabled each one to survive and thrive.

MNGHA is dedicated to support everyone to make our hospital the best place to care and healing, and create an environment enabling the staff reach their fullest potentials for excellence. The organization-wide efforts to focus on digitalization of healthcare, clinical performance and public health has never received so much attention until this pandemic.

Seeing how clinical care is rendered through the eyes of a patient best describes patient experience. In simple terms, it is patients’ perceptions.

Compassionate, humane, responsive and respectful care matter to patients. A healthcare worker’s personal and empathetic touch show that they are not just treated as disease, rather, persons whose thoughts, emotions, well-being and vulnerabilities are highly considered.

With this, I am pleased to announce MNGHA’s system-wide Patient Experience Program under the Quality and Patient Safety Department to be launched very soon. It is an essential stride toward the standardization of our patients’ experience measurement to meet and exceed national and international standards. Connecting with patients and learning from their feedback and experience would not only enhance clinical care practice and outcome but also serve as differentiator to patient journey.

This program will be the patients’ voice and indeed, MNGHA guarantees that it listens.

MNGHA’s very innovative model of Culture of Excellence creates an enabling infrastructure that puts patient experience as its top priority, supported by its strong digital platform making it the best place for healing and care. I have my full confidence in our MNGHA staff who have always delivered the best clinical care, hence, the best patient experience.

Since the initial onslaught of Covid-19, the world continues to reel with its impact and forced many organizations to shift radically in the way they manage the operations. In order for MNGHA to move forward, it was of the essence to look for opportunities in this otherwise terrible situation and transition to non-traditional clinical practice.

We have witnessed how the Covid-19 pandemic transformed our workplace team dynamics. Nonetheless, the difficult situation has brought TEAMWORK into the spotlight as fundamental value in healthcare delivery. I am truly proud how MNGHA employees show leadership and collaborative skills, working past the limits of their comfort zone and extending their personal and clinical expertise to deliver a better bedside care.

Indeed, TEAMWORK is a TREASURE. It has bound us all in order to survive, thrive and succeed during these trying times. It is a commitment to excellence and correlates well with quality of care, Zero-Harm, effectiveness, efficiency, competitive productivity, engagement which are crucial for better clinical outcome. As one of MNGHA’s core values, teamwork has put more emphasis on collaboration, innovation (virtual work), collective decision-making and effective communication. Few relevant examples from our system is the continued successful implementation of the mandates of the Trauma Team, Surgical Care, Tumor Board, Home Healthcare and Emergency C-Section among others.

The results from the last Quality and Patient Safety Survey on Teamwork convey that we are within and sometimes exceed the benchmarks for team performance. This proves that we have a strong cultural pillar that brings all members to share, integrate and care to improve the standards of our healthcare delivery.

I would like to thank each one of you for this value that is woven into our organizational culture and fabric. Together, let us continue to encourage one another and foster interdisciplinary Teamwork in all clinical areas.
